Lavander is honored for its many healing characteristics which the people have treasured for thousands of years and are covered with veil oblivion.
Here, we will show you how this unique herb can substitute the numerous synthetic drugs of today and improve the quality of life on a natural basis. For over 2000 years, lavender has decorated many gardens all over the world. Since Roman times up until now, it has brought much richness: from the flower and perfume to the well known healing characteristics and aromatherapy. We think that the word lavender, the derivative from the Latin word lavare (which means to wash) since the Roman people had a habit of enhancing their baths with lavender. They used much money on ritual ceremonies with lavender and on lavender lotions in public steam baths. Lavender has, in such a way, been significant in herbal medicine since the beginning. Also, they used dried up lavender in the religion ceremonies and at the child births. It was used in relieving lots of illnesses so many of its advantages are proved in modern scientific experiments.
Lavender oil is an ideal first aid. It has the same effect as alcohol but it doesnt burn. Lavender stimulates the regeneration of the tissue and above all, it as a beautiful scent: acne, oily skin, dermatitis, cystitis, psoriasis, eczema, athletes foot, allergies, asthma, bronchitis, throat inflammation, infection of the mouth, cough, inflammation of the sinuses, conjunctivitis, migraine, head ache, bruises, burns, cuts, anxiety, depression, stress, hypertension, ear aches, bad mouth smell, digestion problems. That is the reason why people put lavender leaves in their pillows so they would make the aromatic scent drive them into sleep. The etheric lavender oil is used in aromatherapy to relieve head aches and depression. A few drops of oil is put into a container of hot water and the healing vapor s inhaled. Inhaling this etheric oil has a tonic effect on the whole organism. It refreshes and reduces exhaustion. By consuming lavender tea or drops that contain the extract of the herb can help with the digestion problems such as excess excretion of stomach fluids, stomach aches and puffiness. Lavender relaxes the muscles and in that way it relieves cramps, thanks to the effect of the main element linalolum. The etheric lavender oil is one of the rare etheric oils which can be spread on the skin undiluted. Nevertheless, it is better to dissolve it with a small dose of some herbal oil such as almond oil, olive oil or jojoba oil, for better spreading on the skin. It is a very common ingredient of preparations that treat particular skin diseases such as eczema, acne, small wounds and burns, because it disinfects the skin, acts anti inflammable, speeds up the healing of the wounds and the regeneration of the skin. It is characteristic for many etheric oils to act against bacteria and fungi, therefore, the etheric lavender oil is a useful mean for prevention but also as a help for bacterial and fungi infections of the skin. It can be used for massages when it comes to sour muscles and rheumatic illnesses because it improves the circulation of the blood on the area of the body it is spread over; it relaxes the muscles and relieves the aching. The etheric lavender oil is a very desirable additive to baths, even the name of the herb is taken form the Latin word lavare which means to wash. The lavender extract was added to baths by old Romans, with which they encourages the healing of wounds and stimulated the regeneration of the skin. We must not forget the effect of this etheric oil in the sense it is a tool against insects. So a small sack of dried lavender would insure a pleasant scent in the closets, but also protect the clothes from the moths.
