Olive oil

Olive is an evergreen plant which has been grown for thousands of years for its eatable fruit or the raw plant from which the oil is made out of. It is well known that olive growing has been nourished since the 4th millennium bc. The olive tree gives young plants in such a way that it is easily rejuvenates the old tree. This is why it was considered since old times a tree of longevity. A Bible report is known which says how a pigeon brought Noah an olive twig after a deluge as a sign that the water was beginning to withdraw. Such a motive of an olive twig in the beak of a white pigeon is known today as a symbol o peace.
The nutritional value of olive oil: the oil is valuable nourishment, rich in chlorophyll, carotene, lecithin, polyphenol and essential vitamins A, D and K as well as vitamin E. It is very easily digested. It helps in the fight against breast cancer and other cancers. It helps in the growth of children and is acts against aging due to the high content of antioxidants which block the free radicals. It is good for bones and joints, skin and intestines. It is a help when it comes to diabetes and ulcers, but its main significance is the beneficial impact on the heart and blood vessels. In other words, due to the big content of mono unsaturated fat acids, it protects positive cholesterol, and decreases bad cholesterol. The low content of multiple unsaturated fat acids makes olive oil resistant to ho high temperatures in comparison to other oils so it is more suitable for cooking and frying.
